Marion Alley

Marion Alley

Marion has been interested in painting all her life, but it wasn’t until she moved from Sydney in the early 1970s that she found the time to focus on her painting. Marion’s garden is evidence of her love for flowers, as are the many floral paintings that she has completed over the years, but Marion also has a great talent for landscapes. Each of Marion’s landscapes tells a story, it might be of a day out at the beach with her daughter, son-in-law and her grandchildren. Marion will point to children in the painting and say ‘See here are my grandchildren playing in the sand’. Marion was a co-founder of the Kyneton Art Group, has taken many classes over the years and has painted and exhibited a broad range of works, winning many categories in local shows. Marion continues to attend art group sessions and functions and continues to have a great interest in art.

Dot Enders

 Dot Enders

A holiday in Geelong in 1970 with her sisters was the beginning of Dot’s passion for painting. Dot painted a night scene that her sisters loved. From there Dot painted while staying with her father for a while. In Kyneton, Dot took evening art classes in the High School and eventually became co-founder of the Kyneton Art Group, taking many more classes and participating in the first Daffodil Festival. Dot has not confined her creative pursuits to painting but has embraced many arts and crafts over the years including sewing, knitting, patchwork, collage and sculpture. Many of Dot's works can be seen in the homes of friends. Dot continues to attend the art group when she can and often brings works in progress. Dot has been a welcomed speaker on local arts on local radio and has won many prizes for her work in local shows. One of her painting interests is the depiction of historic Kyneton buildings.
